Dear Members,

I want to inform you about possibility to become the reviewer for prestigious publishing Springer Company. They are prepared now to edit Renewable Energy Handbook and will need to provide the peer review for contributed projects. If someone will be interested in this dealing, please contact me directly.
Thank you,

This article https://www.asme.org/engineering-topics/articles/energy/keeping-the-lights-on was interesting but was poorly written, so that I didn't understand very well what was happening. Fortunately, there was a link in the story that led me to this article, which did a better job of explaining things: http://news.mit.edu/2016/nanophotonic-incandescent-light-bulbs-0111

Keeping the Lights On

Could a technique to improve efficiency bring the incandescent bulb a more prominent place in homes?

Here is a related article that mentions the MIT project, and also lays out the stupidity of our federal government's attempts to legislate efficiency by requiring the use of specific products, like CFL's. drmicozzi.com/the-ugly-truth-about-those-energy-efficient-light-bulbs

Mr Roy Robinson
All,
The MHK/Offshore Renewable community needs to get more involved in the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC). It is the world’s biggest trade show devoted to offshore development, by far. Last year because of the low oil price they “only” had 65,000 attendees and 2500 exhibitors, in 2014 those numbers were 100,000 and 3500. While the focus of the show is offshore oil and gas, 85+% of the exhibitors sell services and equipment applicable to MHK.
I have convinced the OTC Committee to give more space to the future of offshore, i.e. MHK. Currently there are a couple offshore renewable sessions but so far they are focused primarily on offshore wind.
I would ask that you help spread this around the Renewables community, as since I am relatively new my contacts are few. I would also ask that anyone submitting an abstract also copy me as I can act as champion but only if I know they exist. One of my jobs as an OTC Committee member is to combine liked themed papers and propose them as a session.
The link for submitting Abstracts is below:

Another good idea as first glance.
And exactly what are you going to do when a fishing net get tangled up in one of these things? What is the consequence of removing energy from the ocean currents? What about chopped up fish and the effect on the Whales, dolphins.........and Submarines? Any thoughts?
