“Mark worked at various times during the later phases of his career as a senior principal fan and compressor aerodynamics specialist, manager of cold section component design for commercial propulsion and as manager of fan and compressor aerodynamics at Honeywell Engines and Systems, retiring from the company in 2001. Mark is well known in the turbomachinery industry. He chaired various technical sessions and participated as a panel member in panel discussions at the annual ASME-IGTI (International Gas Turbine Institute) conferences over a period of nearly 20 years. Before coming to Honeywell, Mark worked at Pratt & Whitney Engine Division in Florida. Mark got his B. S. & M. S. degrees from University of California, Berkeley, and an Engineers Degree from University of Florida.”
John Gunaraj – Secretary of ASME Arizona Honeywell Aerospace
John is working as a senior engineer at Honeywell Aerospace. John works in the design of fan and compressor department, doing aerodynamic design and analysis. John got his Bachelors in Mechanical Engineering from Madurai Kamaraj University, and Masters in Aerospace Engineering from Indian Institute of Technology Kanpur. John got his Ph.D. in Aerospace Engineering from the University of Cincinnati in 1997. Since then he has worked at AlliedSignal/Honeywell Aerospace.
Den Kudrna – Honors and Awards Representative of ASME Arizona
Den is an ASME Lifetime Member with at least 39 years of membership, not counting his years of student membership. He served as Secretary, Treasurer, Vice Chair and Chairman of the ASME St. Louis Section in the 1980s, and is currently serving ASME Arizona as the Honors and Awards representative. Den worked for McDonnell Douglas/Boeing for 44 years, specializing in military aircraft landing gear systems and structures. He earned Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical engineering and Master’s degree in Engineering Mechanics at the University of Nebraska, plus a Master’s degree in Engineering Management from Washington University in St Louis, Missouri.

Cho Lik Chan – Professor and ASME Faculty Advisor University of Arizona
Dr. Cho Lik Chan is a Professor and Associate Head of the Aerospace and Mechanical Engineering Department at the University of Arizona. He is also the Faculty Advisor of the ASME Student Chapter at the University of Arizona.
James Middleton– Professor and ASME Faculty Advisor Arizona State University
James A. Middleton is Professor of Engineering Education and Director of the Center for Research on Education in Science, Mathematics, Engineering, and Technology at Arizona State University. Prior to these appointments, Dr. Middleton served as Associate Dean for Research for the Mary Lou Fulton College of Education at Arizona State University for 3 years, and as Director of the Division of Curriculum and Instruction for another 3 years plus. He received his Ph.D. in Educational Psychology from the University of Wisconsin-Madison in 1992, where he also served in the National Center for Research on Mathematical Sciences Education as a postdoctoral scholar for 3 years.
Perry Wood – Professor and ASME Faculty Advisor Northern Arizona University
Perry is currently an instructor at Northern Arizona University in the College of Mechanical Engineering, Flagstaff, Arizona. He has a Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering from Northern Arizona University, and a Master's degree in Mechanical Engineering from the Northern Arizona University. He is the faculty advisor for the student section of ASME. His experience includes various engineering positions at Raytheon, M.C. Gill Corporation, Royal Plastics Engineering, SouthWest Windpower, and the Naval Research Laboratory. He is a practicing professional mechanical engineer in the state of California, and Nebraska.
