Getting Started

Congratulations on joining the ASME.org Community! (If you haven't joined yet, visit the home page to sign up now.) Now that you're a Participant, take the opportunity to explore the space.

A great place to start is checking out your Dashboard, which is accessible from the top of any ASME.org page once you are logged in. Hover over your name, and select "Dashboard" from the drop-down menu. From there, you can take a look at your Groups and people in your network, view activities from your network, and manage your ASME account.

Here's what you can do first to make the most out of this new space:

  • Create a robust Profile. You can find your Profile by clicking on your name at the top of any ASME.org page. Fill your experience and interests in, or import your LinkedIn information. To learn more about what makes for an optimal Profile, check out the "Profiles" section of the Community FAQ
  • Connect with your colleagues. Use the Directory to search for people who have joined the Community and encourage those who haven't yet joined to sign up. Once you've added a Participant to your network, you'll be able to see their personal posts and their activity in open Groups.
  • Join Groups. Use the Directory to find your official ASME units, or seek out open Groups.
  • Get involved! Post your thoughts in Group Forums, share photos in your Activity Feed, or comment on News & Updates posts.
