  • “Radiation Health Effects Research at the Mayak Production Association – Russia’s Hanford”



    Dr. Bruce Napier of the Pacific Northwest National Laboratory will be giving the Columbia Basin Section a talk on the radiation health effects at the Mayak Production Site.  The topic is about the Joint US/Russian radiation dose reconstruction and radiation epidemiology at Russia’s first nuclear production site.  If you'd like to see how the Soviet Union handled the challenges of nuclear material production, please join us.
    Dr. Napier works with the development and operation of models concerned with the environmental transport of radiological and chemical contaminants. His professional experience includes mathematical modeling and calculation of effects to individuals and populations from releases of various contaminants to the environment, as well as management of specific projects.
