  Endurance Challenges 

For the 2016 ASME HPVC East, the Steep Hill and the Parcel Pickup and Delivery have been chosen as the venue specific challenge.

Please note that this year, we will be taking a strict approach to the rule concerning the damage to the the parcel. The specific penalties regarding the sustained damage will be covered in the riders meeting the morning of the endurance event.

  Report Submission Instructions

Submission of Design Report and Innovation Report

Please help facilitate a smooth organization process by following these simple guidelines:

  1. Email your submissions as PDF attachments to HPVC@ASME.ORG
  2. The subject of your email and the name of your attached file should include: your school words "East" or "West", depending on which event you are attending, and description of the document, such as "Design Report" or "Innovation Report"

For example: Big Tech College East Design Report…..Team Rosters and Team Leaders Please take a moment to provide us with your Team Roster.

Submission of Team Roster

When you are somewhat certain of your team's attendance, please send us your roster. Please specify who the Team Leader is (you may have more than one). If We Need to Call You We would like to be able to contact you if need-be, so please include at least two phone contact if possible.

8:00am-12:00pm: Check-In

  • Teams Will check in
  • Inspection and team presentations will occur at a certain time allocated based on check in time. You will not get any more time than the time allocated.

9:00am-9:00pm: Presentations

  • Design and Innovation presentations will begin based on timeslots that teams will be provided.

1:00pm-5:00pm: Safety Inspections

6:00pm-8:00pm: Meet and Greet (Tentative)

  • Teams to display vehicles
  • Food possibly provided

7:00am-7:15am: Track Inspection

    7:15am-7:45am: Drivers Meeting

    • Drivers meeting and course preview.
    • All riders must be present.
    • Safety issues will be addressed here.
    • Any rider not in attendance will be omitted from the race.

    8:00am-8:15am: Parade of Vehicles

      8:30am-10:00am: Qualifying Rounds

      10:00am-1:30pm: Women's Drag Race

      1:30pm-4:00pm: Men's Drag Race

      7:30am-8:00am: Course Preview and Practice

        7:15am-7:45am: Drivers Meeting

        9:00am-12:00pm: Endurance Race (2.5 hr)

        2:00pm-5:00pm: Banquet and Awards


        Travel and Accommodations

        Participants are responsible for arranging and funding their own travel and lodging. Please be sure to arrange for your trips in advance - the event begins ON TIME.

        Regional Airport: Port Columbus (CMH)

        From Port Columbus International Airport (CMH): (1 h 20 mins, 79.7 miles)

        From the airport, get on I-270 S. via the ramp to Wheeling. Stay onto I-270 S for about 9 miles. Then take exit 46B for US-33 E toward Lancaster. Stay on US-33 E for 66 miles. When you get to Athens, take exit 17 for OH-682 N toward OH-56. Take the first exit in the traffic circle onto Richland Ave. Go through the light, take a left on West Green Dr. and follow the signs from there.
