ASME LOUISVILLE SECTION DINNER MEETING & CALL FOR VOLUNTEERS

*ASME Louisville Section Meeting PDH Opportunity*
Forensics Engineering & the Expert Witness
Our fall dinner meeting features speaker Joseph W. Kresovsky, P.E. of Denson Engineers. Litigation and subrogation cases often deal with complex situations and technical matters that can be difficult for the judge and jury to understand. Expert Witnesses can be involved to provide answers and explanations that assist in making an informed decision. n addition to providing courtroom support, Forensic Engineers assist attorneys with analyzing those complex situations and technical information, reconstructing failures and accidents, and case preparation. This presentation provides an introduction to Forensic Engineering and the role of a Forensic Engineer as an Expert Witness. Topics include qualifications and characteristics of a Forensic Engineer, governing rules for Expert Witnesses, and working effectively with legal teams.
Dinner will be available for purchase as will a cash bar. See menu at the end of this email.

JOINT ISA-ASME MEETING
September 14th, 2015 6:00pm.
Kingfish Restaurant @ 3021 River Road. (upper level)

(1) to (2) Professional Development Hours will be issued for attendance.
Explosive Environments and Intrinsically Safe Circuits
Many of us have to deal with Class I and Class II explosive environments on a regular basis, and many of us are familiar with the mechanical methods of containing (small) explosions in these environments. These mechanical means can sometimes become cumbersome when you have no option but to place these electric circuits in a hazardous environment.

ISA has been fortunate enough to get Pete McDonnell of R. Stahl to coordinate Catherine Smith (also a “CJ”) to come back up here from Houston to speak to us once again. Her engaging presentation on explosive environments and intrinsically safe devices really persuaded ISA to invite her back to present to all of you once again!
Dinner will be $5 for ISA Members, $10 for any non-members, Students are free, and you are all on your own for alcoholic drinks.

Once again… We hope to have a number of U of L students in attendance, so please come out and show your support for the development of their section.
PDHs will be emailed after the event.

Email CJ Archer if you plan to attend.
