The National Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying (NCEES) is currently seeking licensed industrial and systems engineers to participate in a professional activities and knowledge study, or PAKS, for the PE Industrial and Systems exam. I believe many of you in this community might fit into this category.
The results of this online survey will be used to update specifications for the exam, which is used throughout the United States for licensing purposes. NCEES requires a cross section of licensed professional engineers practicing industrial and systems engineering—including those working in industry, consulting, the public sector, and academia—to complete an online survey about the tasks and knowledge required of a licensed industrial or systems engineer with four to six years of experience to practice in a manner that safeguards the health, safety, and welfare of the public.
The survey can be completed in approximately 30 minutes. For access to the online survey, visit ncees.org/ISPE. For more information, contact NCEES Exam Development Engineer Susan Cline, P.E., at scline@ncees.org or 864-654-6824.

Any assistance or advice would be much appreciated.

Thank you.

Meetings Are A Skill You Can Master, And Steve Jobs Taught Me How
http://www.fastcodesign.com/1669936/meetings-are-a-skill-you-can-master-and-steve-jobs-taught-me-how

Great Article about meetings. In a nutshell, three main steps to guarantee a great meeting (joke):
1. Throw out the least necessary person at the table.
2. Walk out of the meeting if it lasts more than 30 minutes.
3. Do something productive today to make up for the time you spent here.

More brains dont necessarily lead to better ideas. When it came to leading meetings Jobs had no qualms about tossing the least necessary person out of...

Management Division Participants, the Board on Leadership and Recognition is actively seeking volunteers to serve in two of its newly created positions. We are currently seeking applications for volunteers interested in serving in the roles of Chair, Committee on Leadership Development, and Chair, Committee on Recognition. Both positions hold a 3 year term (retroactive from July 1, 2013 to June 30, 2016) and involve leadership of a team of volunteers working on specific programs that serve the mission of the Board. Detailed descriptions, including estimated time and travel commitments, for both positions can be found on the Volunteer Opportunities page of our Board's Group Site, which can be accessed through the link below. I would invite each and every one of you to consider applying for either or both of these positions, and I would also ask that you cascade this message to your fellow current and prospective volunteers to whom this message might not have reached. All ASME members and student members are eligible for both positions. The deadline for applications is September 30, 2013.
