The Manufacturing Engineering Division (MED) of ASME and the North American Manufacturing Research Institution of SME are pleased to co-sponsor the 2019 International Manufacturing Science & Engineering Conference (MSEC) and the 47th North American Manufacturing Research Conference (NAMRC). The collocated conferences will be hosted by Pennsylvania State University, The Behrend College, on June 10-14, 2019, in Erie, Pennsylvania, USA.
Proposals for technical symposia, including panel sessions, are being solicited for MSEC 2019. Those interested in organizing a technical symposium in their field of interest are urged to contact the relevant MED Technical Committee Chair (or the Program Chair and Co-Chair) for instructions on submitting a proposal. Each symposium is strongly encouraged to have an organizing team consisting of 2 to 3 members from academia, industry, and government labs as appropriate. Note that funds may be available to support high-profile researchers (who do not typically attend MSEC) to serve as symposium invited speakers. Furthermore, papers deemed as “journal-quality” by the symposium organizers, may also be considered for publication in the ASME Journal of Manufacturing Science and Engineering or the ASME Journal of Micro and Nano Manufacturing. Note that, in most cases, such papers go through an additional expedited review process, before being accepted for publication by the journals.
The MED’s eight Technical Committees and their corresponding contacts are listed below:
The deadline for submission of symposium proposals to TC Chairs is May 31, 2018. For more information, please contact any of the above technical committee chairs or the Technical Program Chair: Dr. Zhijian (ZJ) Pei (979-458-2334, firstname.lastname@example.org) or the Technical Program Co-Chair: Dr. Barbara Linke (530-752-6451, email@example.com). The paper submission and review process will be done utilizing the ASME web-based conference toolbox as in the past, available in September 2019.
