Hovercraft  by  Moeed Riaz Ahmed
November, 2012 - January, 2013
I am student of industrial and manufacturing engineering from UET Lahore Pakistan so I always scrutinizing to do something innovative. I made such vehicle called hovercraft, air cushion vehicle or friction less vehicle that run on any surface (road, water, snow). I presented my project in APEC ( ALL Pakistan engineering conference) organized by GIK institute of engineering sciences and technology Pakistan in which all engineering universities participated to present their different projects. Industrialist, professional engineers and well know scientist of Pakistan participated in that conference. I got 2nd position in project exhibition judged by Dr perveez hoodbhoy a well-known Pakistani nuclear physicist. I also participated in all Pakistan student project and poster competition. This competition was organized by UET KSK campus in collaboration with faculty of mechanical engineering GIKI TOPI. In SPPC students from 18 universities of Pakistan participated and there were 47 projects in that competition which were presented by students of their respective universities. I got 1st position best project award in SPPC from chairman of mechanical engineering department prof Dr tauseef aizaz and campus ambassador prof Dr Mohammad Zafer noon. My this achievement is also published in The Nation newspaper.

Prototype cars with different energy sources  by  Moeed Riaz Ahmed , Ghulam Mustafa, Usman
November, 2011 - March, 2012
1) Every year American society of mechanical engineering organized an international event SPDC (Student professional development conference) in which all the universities affiliated with ASME participate in this conference. In 2012 the project task given by ASME all over the world is that “Design four self-propelled cars which can collectively complete a relay race in the shortest period of time. Each car must contain an on-board energy source and trigger the motion on the next car Bonuses will be awarded for cars having different energy sources and for initiating subsequent devices”. Our team made four cars with different energy sources i.e potential energy, wind power energy, solar energy and electrical energy. This competition was primarily organized at university level then national level and finally represent your country at international level competition among different countries. Our team got 1st position at university level competition then qualified for national level competition and selected to participate SPDC which was held at BITS pilani university DUBAI. We presented our project in SPDC and got 3RD position among all universities of “ASIA PACIFIC G” participated in that competition. When I came back to Pakistan I had interviews on different news channels and newspapers.
