Hill Eng Solutions, September 2014 to Present

Although retired, Mr. Hill continues his volunteer activities in support of ASME codes and standards and also has a small one-man consulting company, Hill Eng Solutions (HES). He has been actively involved as a contributor and a leader in promulgation of ASME nuclear codes and standards for over 40 years and has been awarded the Codes and Standards Distinguished Service Award and the grade of ASME Fellow. He is past-Chair of the ASME Board on Nuclear Codes and Standards and Chairs the Boiler and Pressure Code, Section III, Nuclear Construction Standards Committee. Mr. Hill is past-Chair of the ASME Subgroup on Component Design, and serves as member or chair on other nuclear code committees. He is actively involved in bringing risk-informed probabilistic design methods into the ASME Code as well as initiatives to support both advanced and next-generation nuclear reactors.

Ralph is recently retired from Westinghouse Electric Company, LLC. He formed his own consulting company, Hill Eng Solutions (HES). He continues in key volunteer positions within ASME nuclear codes and standards. HES offers training and consulting on nuclear code design/construction and provides project management and strategic planning services as well as general consulting support related to nuclear power plant design, construction, operation and decommissioning. As a Consulting Engineers within Westinghouse, Ralph was responsible to assess current technology, motivate technology change, and facilitate technology transfer both internal and external to Westinghouse. He was the Consulting Engineer for Nuclear Services with technical oversight responsibilities for offices in the U.S. as well as those in Spain, and Germany. He provided resolution of technical issues as well as technical input and oversight to design processes. Ralph provided technical leadership around business initiatives, such as critical skills, business plans, process improvements, technical employee development, etc. As a Consulting Engineer, he also provided support on nuclear construction issues to Westinghouse, New Power Plants.
