Investigated the causes of stress fractures in military boot-camp recruits. Formulated and implemented a comprehensive modeling strategy used to predict incidence of injury due to various activities and training programs.

Revised a kinetic Monte Carlo-based model to describe the coarsening of solder in 2D and 3D. Implemented a multiscale approach to modeling stress-induced accelerated coarsening in solders that combined finite element stress analysis with the Monte Carlo microstructural evolution simulations. Worked 3-4 months/year.
