The ASME Student Design Competition provides a platform for ASME Student Members to present their solutions to a range of design problems - from everyday household tasks to groundbreaking space exploration. Each team is required to design, construct and operate a prototype meeting the requirements of an annually determined problem statement. Student Design Competitions held at ASME’s global E-Fests (Engineering Festivals). E-Fests are a three-day, two-night regional event built around design, advanced manufacturing and robotics technologies. They enable engineering students to expand their knowledge, test and showcase new skills and inspire innovation. our robosoccer Team-ROBOTHON The robot contains Omni wheels or poly wheels, similar to Mecanum wheels, are wheels with small discs around the circumference which are perpendicular to the turning direction. The effect is that the wheel can be driven with full force, but will also slide laterally with great ease. It also contains A rack and pinion it is a type of linear actuator that comprises a pair of gears which convert rotational motion into linear motion. A circular gear called "the pinion" engages teeth on a linear "gear" bar called "the rack"; rotational motion applied to the pinion causes the rack to move relative to the pinion, thereby translating the rotational motion of the pinion into linear motion. For example, in a rack railway, the rotation of a pinion mounted on a locomotive or a railcar engages a rack between the rails and forces a train up a steep slope. For every pair of conjugate involute profile, there is a basic rack. This basic rack is the profile of the conjugate gear of infinite pitch radius (i.e. a toothed straight edge).[1] A generating rack is a rack outline used to indicate tooth details and dimensions for the design of a generating tool, such as a hob or a gear shaper cutter.[1] The pinion rotates with the help of gearmotor on rack and makes it to move to and fro to kick the ball towards the goal. This robot is operated by connecting it with bluetooth.the app used to operate the robot is bluetooth rc controller aurdino with hc-o6 module of blutooth is used.

The 2019 Student Design Competition challenges imagination and technical design skills to create a device that can quickly but carefully secure a variety of different balls that will be balancing on tube stands in the middle of a flat playing surface. You must construct a single remotely controlled device to collect as many balls as possible, and place them in a collection area – you must do this quickly, but avoid having balls fall off their stand and hit the ground. The competition will have an initial round where device will run without competition, and then devices will compete against each other in a knockout format.

Upright Semi-recumbent Human Powered Vehicle for ASME HPVC 2019  by  MohdZainul

Goal: The increasing levels of greenhouse gases in the atmosphere by excessive burning of fossil fuels are resulting in rise of global temperatures at an alarming rate. In the coming years, these fuel sources will perish. Human Powered Vehicles solve this purpose as they are an economic and efficient mode of transportation with no fossil fuel consumption. American Society Of Mechanical Engineers organised HPVC Compitition at VIT University giving a chance to budding engineers to design such Eco-friendly vehicles driven solely by human power. Keeping in view the Human Powered Vehicle Team – “Echelon” has an aim of innovating and exploring the field of Human Powered Vehicles through design, analysis, testing, fabrication and adding an aerodynamic fairing, the rider can decrease the drag force as compared to an upright bicycle for vehicle “Velocipede 1817”. Velocipede 1817 was designed to be a lightweight, efficient, fast and practical human powered vehicle which ensures safety and practicality; making it appropriate for everyday transportation.
