HP/IP Upgrade of Unit# 1- 4 Ghazlan Power Plant- Saudi Electric Company  by      
February, 2013 - January, 2015
The objective of this project was to perform HP/IP upgrade for all the Siemens Steam Turbines installed in Ghazlan Power Plant. There were some factors that aroused the upgrading of Steam turbine. Some problems were addressed by the company, referred to the improvement of turbine efficiency/total plant efficiency, Lifetime Extension – ageing fleet and Improved Operational Flexibility – Flex Power. Ghazlan Power Plant is a major Power Plant for Saudi Electric Company (SEC) with production capacity of about 4 GW from 8 units. The first four Steam Turbine Units were fitted with Siemens-Westinghouse turbine generator with a capacity of 444 MW each. The other four Steam Turbine units (5-8) were fitted with Mitsubishi turbine generator with a capacity of 600 MW each and they were. After certain meeting sessions with SEC, some parts were selected for replacement including; Ruggedized Extension Shaft, Inlet Sleeve, Journal Bearings, Piston Seal Ring, Jackshaft oil seal ring, All open & close parts (more than 1500 items) and valves repair kits. During this project I carried out the following responsibilities as a Proposal Engineer (Spare Parts): • Creating Proposals/quotations for the customer for the items with detailed explanations of the parts. • Forwarding customer questions to the engineering experts in the Siemens USA Headquarters. • Preparing answers to the customer concerns with technical details based on the inputs from the Siemens concerned departments. • Having regular meetings with the customer for project to recognize and understand the customer’s needs, make suggestions for possible solutions, and timely develop budgetary numbers. • Cost analysis and estimating • Interpret client’s technical specification and produce compliant technical proposal for the client. • Contact with client and negotiate while preparing Quotes/Proposals. • Play lead role in ‘bid review’, ‘bid clarification’ and ‘sales handover’ meetings • Produce high quality technical and commercial documents/reports for both internal and external audience.

Qurayyah Independent Power Plant  by

Qurayyah Independent Power Plant comprises of six identical groups of Siemens equipment, 654.5 MW output for each. Each block consisted of two SGT6-5000F Combustion Turbines, two Heat Recovery Steam Generators, and one SST6-4000 Steam Turbine. Qurayyah IPP is owned by Hajr Electricity Production Company. Ras Al-Khair PP Spare Parts  by      
May, 2013 - Present
The core objective of this project was to cover the spare parts scope of the Ras Al-Khair PP, Saline Water Conversion Corporation (SWCC). I was working on this project from Cataloguing stage of all the Spare Parts in Oracle software of SWCC to the Initial Spare Parts Package (Operational + Strategic) & Outages of Gas Turbines like Combustion Inspection (CI) & Hot Gas Path Inspection (HGPI) for the 12 Gas Turbines. It was an ongoing project as the maintenance outages were scheduled for each year. Ras Al-Khair PP consisted of total of six blocks; containing 12 Gas Turbines (SGT6-5000F), 5 Steam Turbines (SST6-4000), 17 Generators (SGEN6-1000A) and 10 HRSGs with a total capacity of 2400 megawatts, design of the plant was to generate power for an aluminum smelting plant and provide around one billion liters of drinking water a day for the capital city Riyadh. In 2013 last quarter the Ras Al-Khair PP project was completed & I was given task to create the spare parts cataloguing data for the customer since they were using Oracle software so it was required to provide all the data in order to create material master for all the recommended spare parts for the SWCC so that they can Order parts in future as & when required.
