  • "The Magnificent Machines of Milwaukee"

The Grohmann Museum is hosting an exhibit entitled, ‘The Magnificent Machines of Milwaukee' , from September 6th through Dec. 22nd, 2019.  Tom Ferhring, ASME history and heritage chairman, has been working the last 9 months as guest curator on the effort.  The museum director indicates that this exhibit is the most aggressive endeavor they have attempted. In addition to displays by 30+ companies featured in the book, there is also a special edition of the book to accompany the exhibit, and the Grohmann museum has ordered over 200 copies.

The exhibit will be open free of charge during the ‘Gallery Day and Night’ event this quarter, and I believe that same weekend the Nash auto club will be hosting an event adjacent to the museum. We’re thinking of having a ‘type-in’ at some point, to draw attention to the significance of the development of the typewriter by Christopher Latham Sholes.

Make plans now to see this exciting and creative exhibit.
