The following is the nomination and evaluation criteria for the ASME NDPD Founders Award.

NDPD Founders Award Nomination and Evaluation Criteria

1) This award is for senior personnel who have at least 25 years of work experience in NDE/SHM (nondestructive evaluation and structural health monitoring) related field.

2) Nomination deadline is May 1. Self-nomination is not allowed.

3) Selection committee members may seek nomination but should not nominate anybody.

4) Nomination letter from someone outside the selection committee should clearly state how the achievements of the nominee can be classified as exemplary achievements. Evidence of the exemplary achievement in any one of the following categories is sufficient for the nomination - (1) education and standards, (2) fundamental research, (3) applied and industrial development, and (4) widely accepted product development evident by the commercial success.

5) A supporting letter (in addition to the nomination letter) is welcome but is not a requirement.

6) While selecting the winnter, the selection committee will evaluate the nominee's publication impact, industrial work with impact on cost, reliability and availability of systems being inspected or monitored, pervasive use of the invented systems and technologies worldwide, and standardization of the NDPD methods.

1) Please submit nomination letter before May 1, clearly stating how the achievements of the nominee can be classified as exemplary achievements in one or more of the following four categories - (1) education and standards, (2) fundamental research, (3) applied and industrial development, and (4) widely accepted product development evident by the commercial success.
