Dear Silver State Members,

We are seeking nominations for both section officers and for the Southern
Nevada Mechanical Engineering Achievement Award. Officer positions are a
great way to build your leadership experience without the stress of doing
it at work. It is also a great way to support your local community. The
nomination period is open for all officer positions for the 2014-2015
year, to start July 1. Our Executive Committee comprises a Board of
Directors and the following officer positions: Chair, Vice-Chair,
Secretary, Treasurer, Newsletter Editor, Webmaster, and Student Liaison.

Duties for each officer position are outlined in the Section Bylaws,
available online at

The deadline for officer nominations is May 30th. To nominate yourself or
someone you know, please send me an email with the individual's name and
contact info to If you have questions pertaining
to nominations or have an interest in attending the Executive Committee
meetings, please call me at  702-699-4131.

The Southern Nevada Mechanical Engineering Achievement Award is the
highest honor our section bestows. The intent of this award is to
recognize a group, company, or individual that has contributed to the
advancement of the mechanical engineering profession in Southern Nevada.
The nominee need not be a mechanical engineer (i.e., this could be someone
who encourages students to join the engineering profession or who helped
bring engineering companies or events to Southern Nevada). With this in
mind, we are seeking nominations in the form of a short description of the
individual or company outlining their contributions. Please send any
nominations by May 30th to

Warm Regards,
-Bradford Colton
