ASME Washington DC Section Webinar
Thursday, February 25th at 6pm EST
Come celebrate Engineers Week with a talk by Bob Hershey, Ph.D., P.E. on how to discuss math and science with the general public.
Those of us with backgrounds in engineering often have to explain things to the general public. The best way is to use examples they can identify with. Humor helps too. We can tell them about probability and mathematical expectation. We can show them the costs and calculate the interest.
Bob Hershey has a Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering from The Catholic University of America. He has worked at Booz, Allen & Hamilton and Science Management Corporation. In recent years he has worked as an independent consultant in energy. Much of his work has involved analyzing the engineering and economics of new technologies and writing about them.
Dr. Hershey is a Fellow of ASME and past Chair of the Washington DC Section. He is a Registered Professional Engineer and has served as President of the DC Society of Professional Engineers (DCSPE). He has also served as President of the DC Council of Engineering and Architectural Societies and received their Lifetime Achievement Award.
Please join us! If you are interested in attending the webinar, RSVP to email@example.com. Log-in information will be provided as we get closer to the event date.
